Incorporating industrial waste research and materials collected in the field with traditional media and natural imagery, my multi-media prints explore the environmental impact of industrialization. I am particularly drawn to fluid or atmospheric elements found in nature due to their expressive qualities.
Working with sustainable materials such as paper, wood, silk, non-toxic inks, water, found materials, and Gamblin “Reclaimed Colors” oil paint pigments made from acid mine drainage is an important aspect of my current artmaking practice. My processes include newer digital photography and printing along with traditional, but updated (non-toxic), hand printing methods such as woodcut relief and photopolymer etching.
